A graphic that displays the recipe and an image of the mac n cheese

Why This Recipe Works

  • ADHD-friendly: simple steps, minimal cleanup, no overthinking

  • High in protein + fiber: helps with fullness, energy, and focus

  • One pot: fewer dishes, less overwhelm

Ingredients

  • 1 box mac & cheese (any kind)

  • 1 serving protein of choice (bacon, chicken, sausage, plant-based, etc.)

  • 1–4 cups broccoli (fresh or frozen, based on preference)

  • Milk + butter (or as required on your mac & cheese box)

Directions

  1. Cook your protein

Air fry (or cook) your protein of choice according to package or preference. Set aside.

  1. Boil water

Bring a pot of water to a boil.

  1. Cook broccoli + pasta together

Add broccoli to the boiling water and cook for 2–3 minutes (just until slightly tender).

Then add your pasta directly into the same pot and cook according to box instructions.

  1. Drain

Strain the pasta and broccoli together.

  1. Make the mac & cheese

Return to the pot and add butter, milk, and cheese powder as directed on the box. Stir until creamy.

  1. Add protein + serve

Top with your cooked protein (or mix it in).

Final Note

This is what “balanced” can look like— using what you already have and making it work a little better for your body.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about support, consistency, and doing what’s realistic for you.
